Luxury Single Storey Custom Built Home
An awkward- shaped block proved to be the perfect location for an innovative custom home designed by Perth builders Platinum Homes using strong eco-friendly principles.
A modern, stylish home with strong indoor and outdoor links and a real Australiana feel was created on this Ardross block.
The custom home layout is in an upside-down, lower-case “h” shape, with bedrooms, living areas, the study and garage in different wings of the “h”.
The home is also designed to make the most of natural light and its north facing orientation, with the big open-plan living, kitchen and dining room at the front of the house, facing the north.
In a cul-de-sac, the block was an awkward shape but the “h” shape makes the most of the available space while still allowing for plenty of aesthetic and functional garden areas. The shape also allows for privacy in the different wings and enables the rooms to have views of the front, back and side gardens, creating a strong indoor-outdoor link throughout the rooms.
This Perth custom home has been designed with eco-friendly principles so parts of it were built using recycled materials from the 1960’s home that formerly sat on the block.
